So, while we’re at it, let’s set loose a herd of angry blame. Because of your radical beliefs, I grew up insecure that I’m going to Hell, insecure that Jesus doesn’t love me (this I know, for the Bible tells me so), insecure that I have to be cleansed because I was so dirty.
I thought the Catholic faith believed in loving everyone for who they are, but apparently, I was taught wrong by my family who supported me for whoever I was. My family, I guess, was to blame for telling me lies about how it’s ok to be gay, that God will still accept you. WRONG! God will, but His people won’t.
And you’re still thinking why people have turned their backs on Jesus? It wasn’t God’s rules that made us scour away, it was his people who threw rocks at us for being “sinful” that led us to lose faith.
Well, I didn’t lose my faith. I still believe in God. But whatever his extremist faithfuls have to say, I’m pretty sure it’ll be coming out the other ear.
